“Agapanthus” – the third movement in my Four Seasons garden series, painted to the rhythm of Vivaldi’s “Autumn.” In Argentina, these magnificent purple clusters bloom during our summer months, extending their beauty into early autumn (November through March), making “Autumn” their perfect musical companion.
Look at how these delicate purple blooms cascade together – each flower a note in nature’s own composition. The way they cluster and dance reminds me of an orchestra coming together, which is why I chose to feature Vivaldi’s “Autumn” sheet music in the cheerful yellow pot below.
From Spring’s fragrant white memories to Summer’s vibrant orange present, and now Autumn’s purple celebration of abundance – each painting in this series carries a different season from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, creating a dialogue between botanical beauty and classical music.
The mixed media textures and gelli-printed details capture not just the visual beauty of these flowers, but the emotional resonance of seasons turning, memories blooming, and music flowing through art. 🎼
Three seasons down, one to go… Winter awaits to complete our musical garden journey.
